Cope & Associates, Inc. Welcomes Kate McInnis to the Consulting Team!

 Kate McInnis is the company’s newest Senior Project Associate. Kate brings unique expertise in leadership assessments, employee survey development, and outcome/program evaluations. She combines her background in empirical research and knowledge of organizational best practices to deliver evidence-based solutions tailored to her clients’ needs.  Kate will be responsible for designing, coordinating and implementing company and client-related projects. 

Kate joins COPE with over 10 years of experience in the career counseling sector.  She has assisted women, immigrants, and college students throughout all stages of career management. 

Kate obtained her MSc and PhD from Western University.  Her extensive training and experience in organizational data collection and analyses includes surveys, interviews, and focus groups.  She has also published and presented at a number of international conferences on the topic of employee engagement.   Kate is certified by the Center for Creative Leadership in administering and interpreting their suite of 360 assessments. She is an active member of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology and the Vermont Human Resources Association.

Leadership Development Retreat -October 7-12, 2012

COPE & Associates, Inc.will be hosting their own leadership development retreat at the Nokay retreat center in the north-woods of upper Michigan. Performance Trainer and OD consultant, Aaron Kinnart, will lead the program. Aaron has been organizing Personal Leadership Journeys with executives from companies like Microsoft, KLM, and Sara Lee for the last 6 years.

New! - Nicole Bourassa Joins Cope & Associates, Inc.

Nicole Bourassa has joined the consulting and training firm of Cope & Associates of Shelburne, VT.  As a Senior Project Associate, consultant, facilitator, and trainer, Ms. Bourassa’s expertise in leadership, training and organizational management development will further compliment the full range of services provided by COPE.    

Nicole holds a Master of Education from Saint Michael’s College and a Bachelor of Arts in English and History from the University of Vermont.  Prior to joining COPE., Nicole was a consultant in international public health.  She worked with clients to develop course content to educate staff in low resource settings in leadership and management. Life experiences enabled her to live in Honduras and Nepal , as part of the US Embassy community. Nicole worked at the US Embassy in Nepal where she implemented conservation and environmental initiatives for the embassy and embassy residences, and educated the community in the environmentally challenging context of Kathmandu. Her exposure in Nepal led her to work with a local NGO, providing essential grant writing that enabled the organization to continue their work with trafficked and destitute children impacted by the civil war and ongoing conflict.

Life Orientations Training (LIFO®)

COPE is certified to deliver Life Orientations Training (LIFO®) developed by Dr. Stuart Atkins.  Unlike other communications training tools, this statistically validated instrument offers a strength-based approach, focusing on what is right about us. The LIFO® Survey identifies a person's relative preference for four basic behavioral styles or patterns.LIFO theory views behavior along a continuum, from "too little" at one end to "too much" on the other.   In LIFO® Workshops participants learn to view unproductive behaviors as the excessive use of productive strengths. From that understanding they are able to develop action plans for gradually changing their behavioral patterns so they display just the right amount of the appropriate strengths to accomplish what they want effectively and efficiently.  We have found LIFO® training to lead to increased individual and team awareness in the workplace, increase team communication, more effective conflict resolution, and more effective and efficient teams and businesses.

New! COPE in partnership with Spring Consulting Group, LLC were contracted for a second year to design and develop additional curriculum for their Core Learning Platform using the most current online delivery platform provided by Global Classroom®.
